思想政治工作是我们党的优良传统和政治优势,是面向新世纪,传播真理,理顺情绪,鼓舞斗志,凝聚人心,不断取得改革开放和现代化建设新成绩的重要保证。当前认真学习江泽民同志在全国思想政治工作会议上的重要讲话,大力加强和改进宣传思想战线的思想政治工作,是一项十分重要和紧迫的任务。改革开放以来,宣传思想战线在加强和改进思想政治工作方面做了不少工作,取得许多新的进展,在“两个文明”建设中发挥了很好的作用。但同时必须看到,目前宣传思想战线对加强思想政治工作的认识和理解并不完全一致。少数同志总是认为自己每天干的就是宣传工作,再搞思想政治教育就是节外生枝。因此,宣传教育别人,往往长篇大论,头头是道,而对自我教育却不十分重视,其实,恰恰相反,越是搞舆论宣传工作,越是要加强思想政治教育,教育别人的人自己必须先受教育。 Ideological and political work is our Party’s fine tradition and political superiority. It is an important and urgent task for us to conscientiously study Comrade Jiang Zemin’s important speech at the ideological and political work conference and to vigorously step up and improve ideological and political work on propagating the ideological front. Since the reform and opening up, much has been done in promoting and improving ideological and political work in the propaganda and ideological front and many new progress have been made. It has played a very good role in the “two civilizations”. At the same time, however, we must realize that there is not exactly the same understanding and understanding of the present propaganda and ideological front on strengthening ideological and political work. A handful of comrades always think that what they do every day is publicity work. To engage in ideological and political education is an exaggeration. In fact, on the contrary, the more we engage in media publicity work, the more we must strengthen ideological and political education. The education of others must be educated first.
