作为晚辈,我得知孙越崎的名字是在电影《开国大典》中。解放前夕,国民党政府密令将国库所存全部黄金、银元、美钞及国家大量珍宝运往台湾,并命令政府各部门将所属的重要物资、档案及技术人才运过海峡。于是,大量的财富迅速地在本来就很贫瘠的大陆上消失。然而,当蒋介石退守台湾岛,却发现他极为重视和信任的政府重要部门——资源委员会(经济部)留在了大陆,蒋介石急问:“孙越崎哪去了?”作为资委会委员长的孙越崎正带领3万职员和70万工人护厂护矿,举行起义,把机器设备和几十亿美元的资产完整地留在了大陆,为新中国的百废待兴作出了重大贡献。
