2007年4月27日,全国人大常委会通过一项任命案,其中55岁的致公党中央副主席、同济大学校长万钢出任科技部部长。消息一出,立即引起了国内外媒体及整个社会的广泛关注。在新中国58年的历程中,党外人士出任政府部长,万钢既不是首例,也不是个例。因而从某种意义上说,这是对建国初期政治局面的一种恢复和延续。
On April 27, 2007, the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress passed a case on appointment, in which 55-year-old Vice Chairman of the Governing Party Central Committee and President Wan Tong of Tongji University took the post of Minister of Science and Technology. As soon as the news came out, it immediately aroused widespread media attention from both the domestic and foreign media and the society as a whole. In the 58 years since the founding of New China, non-Party non-government personnel have been government ministers. Wan Gang is neither the first nor an example. Therefore, in a sense, this is a kind of restoration and continuation of the political situation in the early days of the founding of New China.
