In this paper,the computer aided welding procedure qualification system for boilers and pressure vessels is developed by taking advantage of Visual Basic 6 0.It can judge the necessity of procedure qualification test,propose the items of test,and judge the result of tests according to the standards of welding procedure qualification.It can also interpret the process of welding procedure qualification,and accomplish compounding queries and database maintenance.In addition,procedure file templates are offered by the system,by means of which users can edit and print procedure files conveniently.
