新疆伊犁特克斯县,乃乌孙故地,现属哈萨克自治州。然该地于1936年,竟由伊犁屯垦使邱宗浚建起了一座八卦城。国内其实有许多八卦村、八卦田、八卦州,而该县是目前世上最完整且规模最大的。但是,为何在这少数民族地区、距中原汉文化辽远之处,竟会依《周易》八卦后天图的方位来设计建城,而又能获得该地诸民族之认同呢?透过调查,笔者由当地民众手中发现了一些抄本、刻本、石印本,显示了当地深厚的汉文化渊源。可以观察到江南道教雷法传入该地的踪迹;印证丘处机西游故事和道教在西域蒙古族群传播的历史;湘军西征带来的八卦行军思想;堪舆数术对当地人的影响;道教医学在当地的作用等课题。
