2006年1月9日,全国科学技术大会在北京召开,同时颁发2005年度国家最高科学技术奖。我国国家领导人出席了这次大会,足见国家对科技人才的重视。气象学家叶笃正院士和肝胆外科专家吴孟超院士同获殊荣并各得 500万元奖金。迄今,已有9位科学家获得了这一奖项。目前,世界上许多国家都为激励科技精英设立了高级别的奖项,目的就是通过奖励来推进全民崇尚科学技术的良好风气。
On January 9, 2006, the National Science and Technology Conference was held in Beijing and the 2005 National Top Science and Technology Award was issued. China’s national leaders attended this conference, which shows that the state attaches great importance to scientific and technological personnel. Academician Ye Haozheng, a meteorologist, and Academician Wu Mengchao, an expert in hepatobiliary surgery, won the award and each received a bonus of 5 million yuan. To date, nine scientists have won this award. At present, many countries in the world have established high-level awards for the encouragement of scientific and technological elites. The purpose is to promote the popular culture of science and technology through rewards.
