温文儒雅的李慎明代表是中国社会科学院副院长。谈到这次大会,他说,作为一个哲学社会科学工作者,最让我感到振奋的是温家宝总理在政府工作报告中“坚持社会科学和自然科学并重,充分发挥哲学社会科学在经济和社会发展中的重要作用”那段话。他告诉记者,2004年可以说是哲学社会科学年。前不久,党中央发出了《中共中央关于进一步繁荣发展哲学社会科学的意见》。这份文件的颁发,充分地体现了党中央对哲学社会科学工作者的亲切关怀,也使全国广大哲学社会科学工作者倍受鼓舞。但要使全党、全社会真正重视哲学社会科学,还有不少工作要做。
