在上海文物商店里,有二十九名回族职工,他们中间有些人长期从事古玩、珠宝买卖,精通业务,在工作中发挥了重要作用,因而有“回回识宝”的美誉。上海文物商店,原是上海著名的古玩市场,“文化大革命”中被砸烂,1978年恢复时改为现名。在商店筹建和恢复营业过程中,回族职工马维富、罗瑞生等在金山县一个农民的鸡棚里发现了明代的宣化盆,从松江县农村的瓦砾堆里发现了明代的清化盆和宋代的龙泉盆,使国家的珍品重放光彩。回族副经理薛贵笙对瓷、铜、玉器等都很内行,他在商店恢复前被派到工艺品进出口公司看仓库时,曾经从出口物品中鉴别和抢救出不少珍贵文物,如汉、宋、元、明等朝的铜壶、六管瓶、清化梅瓶、清化虎爪盆、清化加黄盆和紫砂壶等,保护了国家的珍贵文物。这个商店的回族职工不仅识宝,有的还是巧夺天工的能工巧
