电气爆破具有很大的优越性,既安全,炮煙又少,因而在爆破工程中,都力求以放电炮来代替放火炮。然而,由于許多地区缺乏电源,手搖爆破器又不經济,因而妨害了电气爆破的广泛应用。一些沒有放电炮的施工單位,为了避免导火線引火可能遇到的速燃导火線的危險,和縮短点炮时間,減少炮煙,曾先后进行各种技术試驗,其中比較成功的有点火筒和一次点火。虽然这些方法都收到了一定的效果,但也必須指出,导火線引火所具有的缺点,并未能彻底根除,如炮煙仍然很大,增加了通风时间;更严重的是在天井、地井中放炮,对爆破人員的安全还不能保障,同时加工麻煩(特別是一次点火)
