贵州织金籍历史名人丁宝桢是具有最高层次道德人格的英雄人物。他虽然是封建社会里的一个封疆大吏,不可避免地存在某些局限性。但是爱国为民始终是他坚持的人生价值取向。为了国家的生死存亡,为了人民群众的安居乐业,他勇于任事,甘于牺牲,在力所能及的范围内,作出了最大努力,做出了一系列彪炳青史的光辉业绩。在风雨飘摇的晚清社会中,树立起一个一身正气、两袖清风、爱国为民、鞠躬尽瘁、死而后已的光辉形象。
