本世纪二十年代我国地质学家丁文江撰写《奉新宋长庚先生传》,对宋应星的《天工开物》一书给予科学评价以来,近年宋应星的《论气》、《谈天》、《野议》等著作又相继问世,有关研究宋著的文章和著作如雨后春笋。然而长期以来,人们对宋应星科学贡献的评介,偏重于生产科技记载,在学术上限于哲学、物理、化学、天文诸领域。笔者近来因编写江西省科技志的需要,细读宋应星几部著作,始察宋应星的地学成就在其著作中占有很重要的位置,在我国以至世界地理学史上都有其不可磨灭的贡献。
In the 1920s, Chinese geologist Ding Wenjiang wrote “The Biography of Mr. Chang Gung-gung of Fengxin Song” and gave a scientific evaluation of Song Yingxing’s book “Heavenly Creations”. In recent years, Song Yingxing’s “On Qi”, “Talking Heaven” and “Wild Such works as the ”Convention" have been published one after another. Articles and works related to the study of Song Dynasty are springing up. However, for a long time, people’s comments on Song Yingxing’s scientific contributions have focused on the production of scientific and technological records, and are academically limited to the fields of philosophy, physics, chemistry, and astronomy. Recently, the writer has carefully read several works of Song Yingxing for the purpose of compiling the science and technology ambitions of Jiangxi Province. Starting with the study of Song Yingxing’s geoscience achievements, he occupies a very important position in his works. He has made indelible contributions in the history of geography in China and the world.
