鲁公后人振卿君,和他的远祖一样,身在行伍却钟情书法,成就斐然,又于文学、音乐等颇多涉猎,亦颇有成就。这些字外功的修养加上他本人的刻苦修炼,可以让我们从振卿君的作品中同时读到一种豪气和一种书卷气,从这个意义上说,他是继承了先祖的衣钵的。很长时间的书风演变使得书坛擅榜书者寥寥,大家都钻研小行草,振卿君却是将榜书这朵奇葩发扬光大了。他的榜书夹带草意,似颜似柳,这借鉴了米芾、王铎等,有唐法、宋意、明清之态,也有对现当代的墨色变化的追求和中侧锋并用,线条恣意豪放,纵横捭阖,大开大合,致广大而尽精微,不计工拙,谋篇布局,经营位置,游刃有余。一般书法家由于很多原因将小楷视为畏途,都会回避,也是由于小楷书不容易创作的缘故,乏人问津。振卿君的小楷书则较好地体现了他的传统功力的深厚,天真烂漫,一任自然,若不经意地写出了神采。在结体和笔画的表现上,他也恰当地融入了魏碑和行书意味,有效地避免了呆滞等常见弊病。
