新世纪元年伊始,中组部召开全国老干部局长会议,部署贯彻中央关于老干部工作的方针、政策,提出要遵照“三个代表”重要思想,用改革和创新精神研究解决面临的新情况、新问题,做好新世纪初的老干部工作。之后,我省迅速召开全省老干部局（处）长会议,传达贯彻全国老干部局长会议精神,并结合山西老干部工作的实际,研究提出了2001年老干部工作的具体目标和任务。展望新世纪初的老干部工作,从中央到省,对如何做好老干部工作都提出了 At the beginning of the first year of the new century, the Central Organization Department held a meeting of directors and chiefs of the country’s veteran cadres to deploy and implement the guidelines and policies set forth by the central authorities on the work of veteran cadres, and proposed that the new situation faced should be studied and resolved with the spirit of reform and innovation in accordance with the important thinking of the ’Three Represents.’ Problems, and do well the work of veteran cadres at the beginning of the new century. Afterwards, our province quickly convened a meeting of veteran cadres (offices) in the province to convey and implement the spirit of the meeting of veteran cadres in the country. Combining with the actual work of Shanxi veteran cadres, we studied and proposed the specific goals and tasks for the work of veteran cadres in 2001. Looking forward to the work of veteran cadres at the beginning of the new century, from the central government to the province, we have put forward a proposal on how to do well the work of veteran cadres
