Mr. Zhang Lingao, the author of “Chiang Kai-shek’s Attending Room”, worked with my colleague at Amateur University, Hongkou District, Shanghai. I read it in breath and felt it was a good book for the study of secretary studies, thus introducing it to my friends in the secretary-general. Chiang Kai-shek’s attendance room in De’anli, Chongqing during the war of resistance against Japan was the core confidential department of Chiang Kai-shek’s regime. The author Mr. Zhang Lingao was famous for participating in the “Japanese Anti-War Alliance in China” during the War of Resistance Against Japan. Later, he worked for four years as a research expert on Japan in the attendance room and had been in contact with many important party and government military personnel, secretaries and think tanks. Therefore, he wrote more than the memory of historical facts, and informative and vivid. This book by the central figure of Chiang Kai-shek started, detailing the attendants room staff activities and secretary group, for understanding the rules governing the operation of this rule and its main characters have a higher reference value. The author focuses on the former, only to introduce relevant aspects of secretary studies.
