The name of the Sumpter moth (Mampava bipuuctella Rogorot), which is used in Japanese entomology, is recently referred to by Li Fengsun as “the fifth-seeded insect in pests of the Chinese Economic Entomology” at page 631 Sesamum cepacia, Ching Ming-cheung, etc. edited “North China Agricultural Pest Records” (in press) and became the Spike jackflies. The name of an insect should follow the principle of being generally easy to be solved and in conformity with the characteristics or behavior of the insect itself. Spike borer is more appropriate, because he is one of the main mung bean pests, larvae specialized to eat the ear, but also belongs to Pyralidae family. Spike more than “real ” the word is more common solution, so this article uses this name.
