在复旦大学中文系里,提起中年副教授章培恒,无论是卓有建树的老前辈,还是才华横溢的新一代,无不佩服他渊博的学识和谨严的治学精神。他非但通晓整部中国文学史,而且对不少断代的某些方面都有较深的研究。且不说他在先秦《诗经》方面的造诣,也不说他在明清小说方面的见识,就说新近出版的《洪升年谱》,已引起了古典文学界的重视,认为此书取材宏富,证据精详,有独创见解,被列为上海古籍出版社的优秀书目。前不久,章培恒还发表了《关于洪升生平的几个问题》的学术论文,纠正了台湾出版的《洪升研究》一书中的不少讹误。近一年来,章培恒应聘在日本神户大学讲学,一人开《中国文学史》、《中国小说史》等课程,讲得颇为出色,博得神户大学师生的好评。其他大学的研究生、助教和副教授,也有闻讯来旁听他的课的。神户大学校长须田勇还要求延长对他的聘请期。章培恒作为日本向新中国聘请的第一个汉文学专家,为祖 Fudan University Chinese Department, filed middle-aged associate professor Zhang Peiheng, whether it is a fruitful predecessor, or a talented new generation, all admire his profound knowledge and cautious spirit of scholarship. In the past year, Zhang Peiheng applied to give lectures at Kobe University in Japan. One of them gave a lecture entitled “History of Chinese Literature” and “History of Chinese Fiction” and spoke very well and won praises from teachers and students of Kobe University. Other university graduate students, teaching assistants and associate professors, also heard the news to attend his class.
