悠悠千年大运河北首,煌煌百里长安街东端。通州,这个于西汉初建置、曾久负盛名的水陆都会和盛极一时的皇家码头,至今已有2200年历史。人类历史上开凿最早、里程最长的“黄金水道”——京杭大运河,就发源于此。鼎盛时期,这里万舟骈集,帆樯如云,舶来了古都北京的辉煌。今日的通州依旧四通八达。由于地处长安街轴线与东部发展带节点和环渤海经济圈的核心位置,通州区位优势明显。此外,通州距天安门仅20公里,从这里出发,到北京中央商务区和首都国际机场仅13公里,距离天津新港也只有100公里。
