导读:来自路易斯安那州的一位13岁女孩Alyssa Carson有可能就是美国宇航局所需要的人,她一直雄心勃勃地想要登陆火星。
Thirteen-year-old Alyssa Carson from Louisiana wants to be the first person to go to Mars(火星).
While some may be afraid of being the first person to go to a planet, Carson wants to go because no one else has ever gone there!
“I want to go to Mars because it is a place where nobody has been. ” she said.
Carson is the only person to have attended all three of NASA’s (美国国家航空航天局的) world space camps and has been in training for nine years already!
“I think that I have a high chance of going to Mars because I’ve been training for nine years so far. As I get older and continue to do more things, the resume will just get longer and hopefully help me look unique compared to other people,” she said.
She regularly attends NASA events and camps and gives talks to other kids to encourage them to achieve their dreams.
“I don’t want one stone in the way to stop me from going to Mars,” she said in a short BBC(英国广播公司)film about her. Carson’s father, Bret, said they have the next 20 years of her life all planned out so that she can hopefully go to Mars in 2033.
She may not become the first person on Mars as Mars One is hoping to establish a human colony on the Red Planet by 2023, but she is still determined to go. She and her father even know that if she does go to Mars, there is a chance that she may not return.
“In 20 years I may not ever see her again, there are chances out there where they go to Mars and not come back, and we’ve had those discussions, and if that’s the only opportunity she still wants to go on,” her father said.
Until 2033, Carson plans to study at Cambridge University, and gets a degree at the International Space University in France. But, for now, all she has to worry about is finishing the seventh grade.
