Ericsson recently announced the signing of a GSM1800 contract with Shandong Mobile Communications Corporation (SDMCC). The contract is worth nearly 29 million U.S. dollars and the construction work will be completed in June 2000. According to the contract, GSM1800 network equipment provided by Ericsson will cover the two largest cities in the province: Qingdao and Jinan, so as to effectively solve the problem of network congestion in the above areas and the rapid increase of subscribers. The contract price
