人民治黄５０年来，黄河流域灌溉与供水事业得到了长足发展。灌溉面积由１９４９年的８０万ｈｍ２，增加到了目前的７２６．７万ｈｍ２，灌溉工程总投入累计达４１９．８亿元，灌溉效益价值量按１９９５年价计算为４５１３．２亿元；为兴建人畜饮水工程总投入累计达到２２．１亿，现已解决农村饮水困难人口２７２７．９万人、牲畜１５５７．５万头（只），效益价值量按１９９５年价计算为４７３．３亿元；城市供水规模发展更快，其年供水量已由８０年代初的４０亿ｍ３增加到了目前的７６亿ｍ３．按１９９５年价效益为１１９５．７亿元。
