苏北沿海棉区是江苏省的主要产棉区。本区东临黄海,西界串场河,北起灌溉总渠,南达如泰运河。全区棉田占集体耕地面积42.96％,占江苏全省棉田23.02％。1978年皮棉总产,占全省总产26.46％,平均单产,高于全省平均水平27.8％。区内棉田比重自西向东逐渐增加,东部有的公社棉田占70％以上。本区海滩辽阔,是全省荒地资源最多的地区,其中有大片草滩和芦苇滩,土壤含盐较轻,有机质较多,围垦条件较好,土质宜棉,建设商品棉生产基地,具有广阔的前景。
The northern Jiangsu coastal cotton area is the main cotton producing area in Jiangsu Province. The Yellow Sea east of the area, the western border string field river, north of the irrigation canal, Nanda Rutai canal. The area of collective cotton farmland accounted for 42.96%, accounting for 23.02% of Jiangsu province’s cotton fields. In lint total output in 1978, accounting for 26.46% of the province’s total output, the average yield, higher than the provincial average of 27.8%. The proportion of cotton fields in the area gradually increases from west to east, while that of communes and cotton fields in the east accounts for more than 70%. The vast beaches in this area are the areas with the most wasteland resources in the province, among which there are large grassland and reed beaches, with light soil salt, more organic matter, better reclamation conditions and suitable soil for cotton production, and have a vast prospect.
