How to assess the nutritional status of sick children, has been for the international community, especially the United Nations World Health Organization concerned about. In the 1970s, some well-known nutritionists in the United States conducted nutritional surveys on surgical and oncology patients in several major hospitals and found that their nutritional status was very poor, with more than 45% of them lacking in nutrition. This has drawn the attention of many nutritionists in North America, they began to shift from basic theoretical research to clinical nutrition research. By the 1980s, the patient’s nutritional status was improved and included as one of the routine tests for new patients. In recent years, our country has also paid attention to this work, believing that the nutritional status of the body is closely related to the cure rate of the disease, the case fatality rate and the turnover rate of the hospital bed, and some monitoring reports have been made.
