Objective To investigate the distribution of cadmium telluride quantum dots (QDs) in mice. Methods 45 male ICR mice were randomly divided into 9 groups (control group and exposed to 1,6,12,24,48,72,120 and 168 h groups). Control group, each intravenous injection of 0.2 ml saline. The exposed groups were injected CdTe QDs 2.5μmol / kg (calculated as Cd) through the tail vein, mice were sacrificed at 1, 6, 12, 24, 48, 72, 120 and 168 h after administration respectively. Induced coupling plasma Mass spectrometry was used to determine the contents of Cd and Te in heart, liver, spleen, lung, kidney and brain. As a result, Cd accumulates in the liver and kidney at a high level, whereas Te mainly accumulates in the spleen. Conclusion Cd and Te have different distribution patterns in mice, suggesting that some CdTe QDs may be degraded or bioaccumulated in mice.
