8848是众所周知的世界之巅珠穆朗玛峰的高度。徐震把他锯掉了1.86米(他的身高),运到横滨来参加展览。人们可能不相信这是个事实,就,像人们从来不去怀疑8848是不是个事实一样。这种相信和怀疑的关系,就如同标准高、度真、实界、限等,是“长征———唐人街”所要介入的重点。作品提出人类对某个“既成事实”的“公共普遍认可”的荒谬性。以“游戏”人类“高度”为契机颠覆和搅乱人们对社会、历史价值观的已有判断经验。
8848 is the height of Mount Everest, the most famous summit of the world. Xu Zhen saw him cut 1.86 meters (his height), shipped to Yokohama to attend the exhibition.
