At the end of the Qing Dynasty and the beginning of the Republic of China, the nomenclature of western translation of Chinese terminology faced two kinds of translational violence: one was the translation of domestication, the cultural difference of western terminology being denied, and the narcissistic mentality of Chinese academia met; another kind of violence was The use of alien translation, to retain their cultural differences, challenge the traditional Chinese academic thought system. The root causes of these two kinds of violence stem from the conflicts between Chinese academic and western academic, traditional academic and modern academic. As a kind of translation strategy, Huitong Law can play down the translating violence in a specific historical context and reconcile the conflicts of various academic ideas, but still can not avoid the historical limitation. With the change of historical context, the weakening of translation violence is also one of the reasons for the evolution of translation.
