大足宝顶山石窟以往的研究中,对于分布在其周边区域的十六处宋代造像重视不够,记录略显简单,且有遗误或遗漏。本文在实地调查的基础上,对十六处宋代造像的形制、造像、铭文、后期遗迹等作了全面介绍,结合龛像特点、题材内容及相关碑刻材料等推测,十六处造像与宝顶山大、小佛湾石刻年代相近,同属一个造像体系,是宝顶山石窟统一规划中的一部分,在实际管理中存在密切的关系;进一步明确宝顶山石窟是一个由数十处造像点共同构成,有主有次、有张有弛,循序渐进、次第呈现的庞大石窟造像群的空间概念。
