Objective: To investigate the clinical effect of mild hypothermia combined with edaravone for severe traumatic brain injury. Methods: A total of 68 patients with severe traumatic brain injury admitted to our hospital from January 2013 to January 2016 were randomly selected as the study group, and were divided into observation group (edaravone + mild hypothermia) and control group according to the difference of treatment methods (Routine treatment), compared two groups of patients with cerebral edema relief and GCS score. Results: The alleviation of cerebral edema in the observation group was significantly better than that of the control group. The improvement of GCS score was better than that of the control group. There was significant difference between the two groups (P <0.05). Conclusion: The clinical treatment of severe traumatic brain injury with edaravone combined with mild hypothermia can achieve better results and should be widely applied in clinic.
