三十烷醇又名蜂花醇,其结构式为CH_3(CH_2)_(28)CH_2OH,是一种长键伯醇。早在1933年,国外有人从苜蓿中鉴定出三十烷醇;本世纪四十年代,又有人从蜂蜡中提取出三十烷醇;1977年,美国密执安州立大学又报道了从苜蓿中分离出三十烷醇是一种强生理活性物质,用其浸种或进行叶面喷施,可使多种作物增产。其增产率为:玉米11~24%,西红柿30%、胡萝卜11~21%、豆子10%、黄瓜6%、小麦8%、莴苣34~64%,并能提高花生产量,还能提高水稻产量和蛋白质的含量。
