当天文学家在20世纪90年代中期注意到那些围着遥远恒星绕行的行星时,他们困惑了。他们发现很多像木星那样大的行星离恒星实在太近了,看情形,它们迟早有一天会被恒星吞噬。为什么地球没有被太阳拉到身边,吞而食之呢?
Astronomers were puzzled when noticing those planets circling the distant stars in the mid-1990s. They find that many planets like Jupiter are so close to the stars that they will be engulfed by stars sooner or later. Why did not the Earth be pulled by the sun and swallowed?
