利国铁矿是以高中温热液充填型为主、伴有少量夕卡岩型的中等规模铁矿床。自1953年以来,在矿区40多平方公里的范围内,先后有冶金、地质系统和矿山勘探队进行了找矿勘探工作。迄今在铜山岛、厉湾、峒山、磨山、利国、羊山、小北山、东马山、西马山、吴庄等矿段,共找到五百多个铁矿体。单个铁矿体规模较小,矿石储量一般在数万到一、二百万吨,个别达到中型。矿体走向长度一般数十至数百米,最长达1600多米。
The Liuguo iron ore mine is characterized by high-temperature hydrothermal filling type and a small amount of skarn-type medium-sized iron ore deposits. Since 1953, within the area of more than 40 square kilometers, metallurgical and geological systems and mine exploration teams successively conducted prospecting and exploration work. To date, more than 500 iron ore bodies have been found in Tongshan Island, Liwan, Dangshan, Moshan, Liuguo, Yangshan, Xiaobeishan, Dongma Mountain, West Mashan and Wuzhuang. A single iron ore body is relatively small, with ore reserves generally ranging from tens of thousands to one million to two million tons, each reaching a medium size. The length of the ore body generally tens to hundreds of meters, up to 1,600 meters.
