自1965年以来,相当数量的研究集中在前显生宙生命方面。到1979年,已经描述了约50多种保存完好的前寒武纪微体生物。这些微体生物中大多数是1973年以来发现的。科学家们对于前显生宙生命的证据已经不再有疑问了,而是进一步寻求能为地球早期历史中生命的特征与品质提供线索的证据,和决定地球演化进程的事件。从岩石记录中已取得了岩石圈、大气圈与生物圈演化的线索。
Since 1965, a considerable amount of research has focused on the life of the Pre-Protozoan. By 1979, more than 50 well-preserved Precambrian microflora had been described. Most of these microbes have been discovered since 1973. Scientists no longer have questions about the evidence of the pre-Protozoan life, but further seek evidence that could provide clues to the character and quality of life in early Earth’s history and events that determine the course of the Earth’s evolution. From the rock records have been made clues to the evolution of the lithosphere, atmosphere and biosphere.
