The Kanto Technology Office of the Japanese Ministry of Construction, the Japan Institute of Construction Mechanization, and Kawamura Industry Co., Ltd. jointly developed a machine for grasping and unloading embankment concrete blocks in 1997—an embankment concrete block grabbing clamp (hereinafter referred to as a clamp). It solved the problem of loading and unloading of concrete blocks during flooding of rivers and embankments. Clamps can be used for grabbing 2t of 2t concrete blocks and grabbing 2t and 4t concrete blocks (Figure 1). Two types of clamps are similar in structure (parameters are shown in Table 1 and Table 2). but
