On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Peace and Friendship between China and Japan, a joint plenary session sponsored by the Pyeonghwa Yufu Art Exhibition Executive Committee, Japan Yomiuri Shimbun, Japan-China Friendship Association, China-Japan Friendship Association, China Association for Cultural Exchanges and the National Art Museum of China, Pingshan Yufu Art Exhibition was opened on April 18 at the China Art Museum. Jia Qinglin, chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, attended the opening ceremony and met with former Japanese Prime Minister Tomiichi Murayama in the opening ceremony.
