主体与客体是绘画中关系的表述,是两者之间关系的比较,而在中西绘画美术的比较中,主体与客体的关系受到多方的影响,中国美术与西方美术在把握自然的客观对象表现的是两个迥然不同的方面,中国美术有偏于表现性,西方绘画则偏于再现性。其中的一点就是对主客体认识的不同,主客体的差异受到社会环境,周围环境,文化环境等因素的影响。
