The relationship between the retention of non-congener solutes on the two stationary phases was theoretically deduced, and the equation was applied to the polarity and selectivity of 89 common stationary phases. The polarity of the stationary phase can be evaluated by the value of B, and the selectivity by the values of B, C3 and C3. The use of this equation to evaluate the stationary phase has two advantages. One is to evaluate the stationary phase based on intermolecular forces and the second is to no longer limit the choice of probe compound.
