一九七四年玉溪地区稻瘟病发生严重,损失较大。据不完全统计(缺华宁、新平),中稻因稻瘟病受损面积达10.4万亩,其中2802亩无收,超过了历史最严重的年份。全区稻瘟病较突出的1958年,受损面积5万亩(包括晋宁县2万亩),1965年近3万亩。玉溪县1966年受灾2万亩,而1974年达4.3万亩。1974年的另一个突出特点是小秧染病较多,带到大田以后叶瘟严重,“落塘”情况普遍。据各地总结分析,1974年稻瘟病流行原因及防治经验如下:
In 1974, the rice blast in Yuxi area was serious and lost a great deal. According to incomplete statistics (Huahuaning and Xinping), the damaged area of mid-rice due to rice blast reached 104,000 mu, of which, 2,802 mu were not collected, exceeding the most serious year in history.
