与特区同龄的深圳广播电视大学,过去曾是广东电大的一所分校,创办时只有一个专业、几位兼职教师、200来个学员和一间租用的200多平方米的校舍。经过十年努力,它已经发展成为由校本部、宝安电大、蛇口和沙头角2所分校,以及分布在城乡的8个教学点组成的教学网络系统。这个教学系统拥有校舍2万余平方米,一批卫星地面接收站,演播和录像制作、闭路电视、语言实验和计算机等现代化教学设施,配备了120余名教师和职工,还有近百名稳定的兼职教师。 办学十年来,深圳电大共招收学员7000余人,培养了1972名大专毕业生和349名中专毕业生。此外还培养了单科和多科生、专业证书毕业生以及短期培训学员3000多人,函授培训 Shenzhen Radio and Television University, the same age as the SAR, was once a branch school of Guangdong TV University.
