The Birmingham Library is the largest public library in Europe, with a total construction area of over 30,000 square meters and a height of 10 stories, approximately 60 meters. The library is a fully transparent glass building, and its ingenuity of the filigree skin is closely related to this once industrial city context. Elevators and escalators are located in the center of the library and form a dynamic link with the eight circular spaces in the library. These circular halls play an important role. They are not only the traffic and public centers that lead to the library, but also provide natural light and ventilation. The rooftop rotunda features the Shakespeare Memorial Room, dating back to 1882. The wood in the Victorian Reading Room was taken from the First Birmingham Central Library.
