Israel, for many Chinese, remains mysterious. At the invitation of the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, I was fortunate to have a short visit to Israel early in November 1993, together with Mr. Wang Wei Zhou from the Shanghai Institute of International Studies. Despite my several years of Israeli studies, this brief field visit led me to increase a great deal of knowledge I could not get from books. Really Wanli Lu won thousands of books.
