数字是语言文字种类之一。在一定的语言环境里,数词(或数字)与其他词语一样,也具有各种比喻的含义和作用。其中,尤为突出的莫过于隐喻了,各个民族对数字赋予了丰富的隐喻含义。本文就英.日.汉三种语言中含有褒义和贬义的典型数字进行考察,并对产生这些差异的文化因素进行对比分析,从而对三种语言中的数词隐喻的含义得出了一个较全面的对比结果。这种跨文化对比,对促进二语习得或三语习得,提高学习者对异国文化的理解能力和实际运用能力会收到事半功倍的效果。
Numbers are one of the languages. In a certain linguistic environment, numerals (or numbers), like other words, also have the meaning and function of various metaphors. Among them, the metaphor is particularly prominent, and all the nations give the figures a wealth of metaphorical meanings. This article examines typical figures that contain both compliments and derogatory meanings in the three languages of the UK, Japan and China and compares and contrasts the cultural factors that produce these differences. Thus, the meanings of the numerical metaphors in the three languages are compared Comprehensive comparison results. This cross-cultural comparison will have a multiplier effect on promoting second language acquisition or third language acquisition and enhancing learners’ ability to understand and practice foreign cultures.
