In his article “The Garden in the Garden - Meditation” published in the sixth issue of the Forbidden City, Mr. Jin Chan talked about the Xiyuan Railway, a small railway laid by the Empress Dowager Cixi in the China Shipping and the North Sea. Twenty-six years Year) by the Eight-Power Allied Forces “all to destroy.” Comrade Yang Naiji wrote that “a small railway near the pool” also availed himself of this remark. I think this statement is different from historical facts. The Eight-Power Allied Forces did indeed destroy the Xiyuan Railway, but did not “destroy all the tracks, stations and small trains.” Recently, the author found in the First Historical Archives of China that there was a file about the history of the Xiyuan Railway and the vehicles repaired by Xuan Tong in the past three years, confirming that a considerable part of the tracks and vehicles of this small railway are still preserved.
