当量的概念已作为重要基本概念编入中学教材,虽然中学生学过了酸、碱、盐的当量,由于当量概念本身较抽象,又没有做过有关内容的实验,有相当一部分学生对当量的概念不清,对当量定律不大会应用,用时往往发生错误。因此,在大学无机化学课程中一般都安排置换法测定金属当量的实验内容。这个实验的选材针对性强,它不但能加深学生对当量概念和当量定律的理解,而且在实验过程中还需应用气态方程式、气体分压定律等,通过实验有助于培养学生综合运用学到的理论去分析问题和解决问题的能力,同时巩固了量的概念,为定量分析打下了一定基础。
