“公关”是公共关系的简称,是社会组织为了生存发展,通过传播内涵,塑造形象,平衡利益,协调关系,优化社会心理环境,影响公众的科学和艺术。作为一种社会关系,图书馆同其他任何社会组织一样,从其产生起,便客观存在着公共关系状态。但是,由于公共关系理论在20世纪80年代才被传人我国,且多被企业所运用,加之长期受计划经济思想的影响,图书馆界从整体上看,始终没有对公共关系引起足够的重视。公共关系在美国有“能够决定图书馆命运”的说法。在当前图书馆迎接信息化社会的挑战、向数字化图书馆转型的关键时期,我们应该重新认识并重视公共关系,研究探索图书馆事业建设中的公关策略。本文就此提出粗浅看法。
“Public relations” is short for public relations, which is the science and art that social organizations play in order to survive and develop, propagate the connotation, shape the image, balance interests, coordinate relations, optimize social and psychological environment, and influence the public. As a social relationship, libraries, like any other social organization, objectively have the status of public relations from its creation. However, since the theory of public relations was introduced to our country in the 1980s and was mostly used by enterprises, combined with the long-term influence of the planned economy, the library community as a whole has not given enough attention to public relations. Public relations in the United States has the “can determine the fate of the library,” the argument. In the current period when libraries meet the challenge of information society and transition to digital library, we should re-understand and attach importance to public relations and study and explore the public relation strategies in the development of library. This article put forward a superficial view on this.
