“煤气包”压在心头千斤重1959年底,王进喜领导的玉门油田贝乌5队累计钻井进尺7.1万米,相当于旧中国42年的钻井总和。那年9月,王进喜被选为全国劳动模范。10月,他和王崇伦、时传祥、倪志福等全国各行业著名劳动模范一起,出席了国庆10周年庆典,登上了天安门城楼。10月26日,他和劳模代表一起在北京参加了全国工交群英会。
At the end of 1959, the 5 teams of Bayu 5 in Yumen Oilfield led by Wang Jinxi accumulated a total drilling footage of 71,000 meters, which is equivalent to the total drilling volume of 42 years in old China. That September, Wang Jinxi was chosen as a national model worker. In October, he attended the celebrations of the 10th anniversary of the National Day together with Wang Chonglun, Shi Chuanxiang and Ni Zifu, famous model workers from various industries across the country and boarded the Tiananmen Square watchtower. On October 26, together with his model worker, he participated in a national work-group meet in Beijing.
