2009年底,诺贝尔奖得主奥尔罕·帕慕克出版小说新作《纯真博物馆》(The Museum of Innocence,Knopf出版公司,536页),世界文坛给予了充分的关注。“域外书评”本期书评译自《纽约书评》(第56卷,第18期,2009年11月19日),书评作者为英国小说家、散文作家皮科·耶尔(Pico Iyer,1957—)。皮科·耶尔生于牛津大学印度裔哲学教授之家,先后就读于牛津大学和哈佛大学,熟悉英美文化和印度文化,经常为各大报纸撰写书评,尤其关注具有东方背景的小说家。
The end of 2009, the Nobel laureate Orhan Pamuk published a novel “The Museum of Innocence” (Knopf Publishing Company, 536 pages), the world literary world has given full attention. This book is a translation of the New York Review of Books (Vol. 56, No. 18, November 19, 2009) by Pokéyer, a British novelist and essayist. 1957-). Pico Hyer was born in Oxford, Indian philosophy professor’s home, studied successively at Oxford University and Harvard University, familiar with Anglo-American culture and Indian culture, often book reviews for major newspapers, with particular attention to novelists with oriental background.
