Objective To understand the use of antimicrobial drugs in hospitals and to analyze the rationality of using antimicrobial drugs in primary medical units and provide a theoretical basis for promoting the rational use of antimicrobial drugs. Methods According to the guidelines of “National Essential Drugs”, “Prescription Management Methods” and clinical application of antibiotics, 1 000 outpatient prescriptions in our center from January to October in 2010 were randomly selected, and the order of drug use frequency (DDDs) Analyze the irrationality in antimicrobial application. Results There were 310 antibacterial prescriptions (31.0%, accounting for 89.03% of oral preparations and 10.97% of injections), and 156 were irrational prescriptions (accounting for 50.3%). Conclusion The proportion of prescriptions with unreasonable use of antimicrobial agents is high, so it is necessary to intensify the supervision on the use of antimicrobial drugs. The reasons for the existence of problems should be found out so that the antimicrobial dosage of primary medical units tends to be rationalized gradually.
