Using circulating endothelial cells (CECs) as an indicator of vascular endothelial cell (VEC) injury, VEC functional changes were evaluated by plasma endothelin (ET) and prostacyclin (PGI2). Eighty-five patients with coronary heart disease and 30 normal controls 50 patients with unstable angina and 20 patients with acute myocardial infarction were observed. The results showed that the levels of CEC, ET in peripheral blood of patients with coronary heart disease were significantly higher (P <0.001) and PGI2 was significantly lower (P <0.001), especially unstable angina pectoris and acute myocardial infarction were more significant The same extent. Suggesting that VEC injury of coronary heart disease, as well as the imbalance of endothelium-derived contraction and contraction factor secreted by it, are involved in the pathological process of coronary heart disease.
