在1998年底的曼谷亚运会上,独得四金的乒乓球女选手王楠称得上是中国代表团里最耀眼的明星,在今年2月王楠终于打破了女乒“大姐大”邓亚萍长达8年的“垄断”,登上了世界排名首位的宝座。第45届南斯拉夫世乒赛前夕,笔者在河北省正定国际乒乓球训练基地采访了这位中国女乒的新一代领军人物。 (采访是在王楠去找队医按摩时进行的,王楠趴在床上,一边接受治疗,一边回答我的问题。20岁的她显得很成熟很老练。) 记者:亚运会后你的知名度上升很快,很多媒体认为你已成为中国女乒的新一代领军人物,对此你持何种态度? 王楠:很多媒体称我已“超越了邓亚萍”,或是说“邓亚萍时代已经过去”,我自己可并不这样认为。我在素质上精神上与邓亚萍仍有差距,我这样说并非谦虚。亚运会不是奥运会,我们这些年轻选手要想达到邓亚萍的高度,还需要奥运会的检验和锤炼。
