成都市博物馆新址地处成都市中心天府广场西侧,占地面积约17亩,北临人民路西段,西靠小河街,与现皇城清真寺和西北中学相隔约10米,南临西御街,东边为天府广场(图一)。2008年3月,成都文物考古研所在进行文物勘探时,发现此处有丰富的文化堆积,随即布方进行发掘。布探方10×10米21个,面积2100平方米,方向为正南北方向,实际发掘面积1000平方米,700平方米发掘至生土(图二)。现将发掘情况报告如下:
The new site of Chengdu Museum is located on the west side of Tianfu Square in the center of Chengdu. It covers an area of about 17 mu. It is adjacent to the west section of Renmin Road in the north and Xiaohe Street in the west. It is about 10 meters away from the existing Huangcheng Mosque and Northwest Middle School. Street, east of Tianfu Square (Figure 1). March 2008, Chengdu Institute of Cultural Relics and Archeology in the exploration of cultural relics, found here rich cultural accumulation, then cloth to explore. Cloth exploration side of 10 × 10 meters 21, an area of 2100 square meters, the direction is positive north-south direction, the actual excavation area of 1000 square meters, 700 square meters of excavation to the birthplace.
