近些年发展起来的社区服务,是从一些社会成员的特殊救助服务逐步扩展到相对广泛的便民利民服务,初步拓展了社区工作的内容。新形势下的社区发展则是内容更广泛的系统工程。它应该包括:社区经济发展、社区环境发展、社区文化发展、社区教育发展、社区服务拓展、社区城市化发展和社区安全建设等等。它既包括了传统的社区行政性、社会性工作,也包括了体制变化和社会发展带来的许多新的内容;既包括了由街居组织直接抓的一些事情,还包括社区中应由社会组织、中介组织、市场主体和居民自己去干的大量事情。它可以说是现代城市综合性的“社会生态”在社区这个局部的集中表现。
